"We" (Kim) decided I should grow one bed entirely made up of herbs. So I now have a sh*tload (200 to be exact) of mixed basil plants. The rest of the herbs will be started this week.
I'm especially pleased with my hot pepper plants that have 6-8 leaves on them in just over a month.
Red and Yellow Habenero's from Whatcom Seeds
I grew hot peppers the first year we arrived on PEI and learned a great deal about how finicky they are. This year, these babies are spoiled; heating mat, their own Ott Light and the sunniest place in the grow op room. I also believe that talking "smack" to your hot peppers results in fiery taste so I'm swearing at these guys on a daily basis. When ready these plants will be going in containers on the deck.
I quite enjoy seeing the new growth everyday and the nice thing about the blog is that it will serve to get me reacquainted with my camera.
So Pleased Everett & Kim that you have started this New Blog!! Have Missed your Blog, Kim, So Enjoy your sense of humor! Looking forward to Following You Both on Your New Adventure!

Great development of the Herb characters. When do we get to the spicy bits? Any companion planting in those new beds at Thirteen Kilometer Creek? (Where would British mysteries be without someone planting a companion in the garden?) Will you be ruffling the feathers of birds? Enticing bees? I look forward to the introduction of the antagonist - raccoon maybe?
ReplyDeleteChickens! Where are the chickens? A chicken in every plot, queue the chickens!
